I like that you use the "KISS" method.

Very nice job. I saw the broken loop (burn pile) and immediately thought - plywood is the answer. Looks like your final solution for that IS plywood if I look closely at the video. Buying a 4x8 sheet would give you 90% left over, ..., that's why it's important to never throw away your scraps! Just demand more space. Very clever "fish trap" design on the skinny pole end. You should see a patent attorney on that. Also, this design can accommodate the max amount of small rods/reels, plus you can skip a slot if you have a wide reel, like those seen in salt water environments around me. I have some saw horses I'm not too proud of - the kind you buy as a kit from the big box store with the pre-cut 2x4s and metal connectors you just nail together. But they have served me "good 'nough" for most of my work. I also have a sawhorse underneath the house crawl space the original carpenters built on site and left it back in 1987 when we built the house. It is as sturdy as they come, but so heavy, I haven't used nor seen it for years. Maybe I should put it on casters. Last thing is I don't understand the walnut pushing tool. Don't see any walnuts, and how they could be incorporated. Hmmm. You know I like self deprecating humor the most because you make fun of yourself, not someone else. That said, my favorite is from Forrest Gump, "They say it was a million dollar wound. But the Army must keep that money, 'cause I still haven't seen a nickel of that million dollars."

Yep, plywood was part of the fix. And scrap wood always useful for testing new designs, propping things, clamping, you name it. Salt water rigs are bigger, as are the fish. You can probably use that heavy saw horse as a boat tie off, or an anchor. Hard to justify using walnut for a fishing rod holder, but it is family, ha ha. Not to mention, a piece of scrap that was the perfect shape.
